California Higher Education and Bureaucratic Bloat

No one needs to be told that the cost of higher education is getting out of control. In California, the trend might be just a little more disturbing than anywhere else. Thankfully, someone is paying attention. The Independent Institute is taking a little time to dig down into the numbers surrounding administrative staffs in California’s higher education system. Unfortunately, the trend is not only adding to bureaucratic bloat, but it’s also causing crops of graduates with degrees that may not be worth similar level degrees in other fields of study. Is it time to take another look at academic standards in education and administration? If nothing else, we know where to look first to make cuts to save money in education.
