The FDA is charged with protecting the public from dangerous drugs and food additives. If that was all it did, perhaps that would be fine. However, it has grown far beyond that. The Goldwater Institute offers research that shows how far the FDA has gone to protect the public from a drug that has little or no evidence that it is dangerous to anyone. Families migrating around the U.S. for medical treatment is becoming common, thanks to medical marijuana. Cases like this go beyond that, and the migration for this drug could be to Mexico, Canada, or most of Europe, among other nations. Perhaps we need to make the FDA justify its decisions, or remove some of its power?
