Tackling Social Media Abuse

Abuse on the Internet is a widespread problem, and many social media users have been victims of cyber bulling, trolling, and witnessed content that’s sole purpose is to spread hate, or to promote criminal activity. The RAND Corporation has recently published a blog post that provides an in-depth insight into how social media abuse can be tackled. The article was originally published in Inside Sources on March 23, 2017. The author, James Dobbins, outlines several measures that could be taken, such as efforts to prosecute defamers in court, and stricter regulation of content found on social media sites.
